I'm working on a photo project and would like to correctly label these flowers. The white flowers are on a bush about 4 ft high and around, with many clusters of these flowers. The purple flower is about an 1-2inches in diameter and 6 inches off the ground. It's leaves remind me of Black-Eyed Susan's leaves.
    Thanks!

#1 is "a bush about 4 ft high and around", also leaves are apparently serrated... -- can it be Pyracantha (or similar of Rosaceae family) ?

#2 might be a cornflower Centaurea of some sort.

#2 kind of looks like a type of Echinops to me. Hard to tell for sure from just one angle.

    1. You are quite correct Tyrlych. Bad error on my part.
I think it may be Aronia sp. Size fits too.
I was taking pics of ours and suddenly remembered this thread!
    It is in Rosaceae.

    2. I don't think that second one is an Echinops, as the flowers start as a ball, with individual flowers starting to open at the top and work down until it is a flowering shere.
