I got this plant from a friend and they didn't know what species it was. She said she saw a lot of these in Florida and said they were water plants. I don't know if the plants she saw actually were these ones though. They look like some form of bamboo because they have the same kind of roots, right?
Looks like Cyperus involucratus, Umbrella Plant. May be the 'Gracilis' cultivar if it remains small in height and leaf size.
