Ok I ordered seeds for Eupatorium cannabinum or Hemp Agrimony online. I germinated using paper towel method then placed properly into soil. They seem to be good for about a few hours and then when I go back to look its shriveled up and dead. This happened both with my wormwood sprouting too that I used paper towel method. Please can someone help me it is really annoying knowing your freshly sprouted seeds are just dropping like stones. What Is weird though is that I made a mini green house type contraption by placing bag over one sprouting "Misting the inside of the bag to give some moisture". And Guess what its not dying. and when I took it off for few hours it shriveled up again but soon got onto it and put bag back on. PLEASE HELP ME DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS. THE GERMINATION, THE SOIL, THE LIGHT, THE TEMP, THE HUMIDITY???? PLEASE Below are the conditions the sprouts are in. Temp - Around 75 degrees Growing - Indoors Light - Window Light Soil Comp - Peat Moss and Potting Soil Watering - light mist
It is native to northern Europe; it needs much cooler summers than you get, with summer temperatures around 16-20° with fairly high humidity. It also requires moist habitats, typically a wetland plant growing in fens, only rarely on drier sites. Well my home is around that temperature 65-70 degrees Fahrenheit. I plan to keep this inside my house because ,Yes, our summers are insanely hot. I Am sure that it must be the humidity because of the bag trick I did. Is their anyway I can get something to measure humidity . and the recommended or average humidity where this plant is native. Thanks
What's that in real money?? Summer relative humidity outdoors here is typically 75-90%, only very rarely below 50%; close to the ground in wetlands, it'll be higher, probably hardly ever below 70%, and often 100% (mist/fog) at night. Indoor air is always much drier, rarely above 50%. You'd need to get a hygrometer, easy to get but not too cheap (over here, around £16, = US$32). Lets just electric bill is over $300. For the humidity I will set something up. I have a humidifier that isn't in use and never will be so I guess I can use that. Thanks.
