    Hi all,

Recently I've been growing tropical indoor plants, such as mango, pineapple and avocado, and I came across this spectacular plant. Sadly, I haven't been able to find any at a grocery store, specialty foods store, or local nursery. I'd prefer not to ship one in, I prefer growing it from scratch, but any information on where I can obtain one, or tips on growing them, would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Quetzal, is this your own photo? If it's not, please replace it with a link to the original site (posting it here without permission is a copyright issue for the University.)

This said, try asking Ecuagenera about it - this cultivar is grown in Ecuador and they may be able to help you source one. If you're lucky enough to find one in a grocery store (which is a fairly long shot - white pineapples of the variegated type don't ship well and are primarily grown for domestic consumption), the propagation is the same as for standard pineapples. A quick search of the forums here will turn up a wealth of good instructions.
