Hi, I have had this 4 foot Arboricola Tree for about 10 months now. The last month, the stems growing out of the base of the tree are turning brown and soft, killing all the leaves attached to it. It is not getting down to about half of what it was. Any ideas on what is causing this, and what I can do about it to save it? this plant is important to me and I would liek to save it. Thanks for your help.
First hit in a google search (Arbicola disease) was this page that sounds a lot like your problem. But you might look further using the same search. Should be able to find remedies there too as I didn't see anything on the first page above, even though it says they treated the plants. The disease mentioned there was fungal, so perhaps you might try some anti fungal preparations on a small part of the plant to see if they have any immediate effect while looking for a specific rememdy on the pages above. I'm sure one of the experts that frequent this forum might have some treatment suggestions for you. Harry
Heres a little more info: I beleive i have been over watering/fertilizing it. I have watered it once a week and i alway have put miracle grow in the water. The tree sits in the corner of my kitchen where it catches alot of indirect light, but very little direct light. I hope this helps, any advie would be much appreciated!
