    Hi,

I wanted to bring an Aglaonemia into my house, but wasn't sure if it is toxic to housepets if one were chew on it?

Does anyone know? I couldn't find anything online regarding this.

    Thanks,
    Windy

Windy: take the same precautions you would for a Dieffenbachia or any other aroid. My cats normally take one little nibble and decide that they're less tasty than a spider-plant, then leave them alone.

Windy I wouldn't imagine it would be as toxic as Dieffenbachia, although Beth's advice is sound.

Back when I did indoor plant maintainence, I once saw someone in a mental hospital lick an Aglaonema leaf and he did not get sick.

Would not recommend eating one. That is unless you cook it really well to remove the oxalates as one does for cabbages.

Seriously though, as Lorax noted, most animals have enough sense to leave inedible houseplants alone.
