Hi all, My name is Shlomit (pronounced: sch-lo-meet) and I'm from Tel-Aviv, Israel. I come form the DTP area (desktop publishing) and recently I discovered the beauty of taking pictures of flower in macro mode and after taking them with my small camera i bought a professional one with a macro lens and i'm very happy about that. Later on I wanted to name the flowers and for that I stared to ask around. I have a small balcony with tons of plants and i love them very much. Hello Shlomit, Welcome to the this forum. I am also a member and if you are interested in learning all about your plants, you'll certainly get a lot of help from the experts here. I started gardening about four or five years ago and I can't believe all I've learned from the folks at the UBC Gardening Forum. Every single day I learn something new. BTW, congratulations on your new camera. If you have photos of your plants/flowers and would like to know the names of them, just post them here. The people here are very knowledgeable and always do their utmost to help. Because of this forum, each day I become a little more passionate about gardening. Good Luck!
Shlomit, click on Settings at the top left of your screen, you'll see the Control Panel on the left hand side of the page. Scroll down until you see Settings and Options. You'll see Signature and Avatar.
I guess you ment "My settings"... Under Avatar I don't see a place where to upload my own. I also don't see the signataure option :( thank you
Welcome shlomit. Try going to the top of screen..... MY SETTINGS. Under this.... Your control panel. Scroll down to.... Settings and options. Go to.... Edit avatar. Below Pre-defined standards( Pic of Acers etc) Is.... Custom avatar. Try this. Hope this helps.

Hello Shlomit - It is so nice that you have found this site which is full of very interesting plant stuff. I only joined up last week myself, but already have had a couple of plants identified by other more experienced gardeners. Wonderful also that we can visit with people from all over the world who share the same interest. I was in your country for a visit about 10 years ago and really loved it, especially Jerusalem. Really great. - my name is Louise from British Columbia.
