    Hello.

Can someone tell me if this resembles H. divaricatus? It was given to me by a friend who told me it was H. divaricatus but I am not so sure because I believe this species has either sessile leaves or a very short petiole <3mm long, pics I have seen of H. divaricatus seem to have a more narrow leaf and they apparently spread in a linear manner…this one has spread in a bunch. Leaves just seem too big for it to be this species. I understand Helianthis tends to hybridise. Am I looking at a different species altogether or a possible hybrid?

Pic showing spread also has a few Silphiums in the mix…hope this isn’t too confusing! I am in northern VA but I am not sure where these plants (Helianthus) came from.

    Thank you!

I think it looks most like H. decapetalus so going with this.
