We have a'Tahitian Flame" ginger that we purchase this spring. It have grown very well this summer although it did not reach a good enough size to flower. We were going to bring it into a cool greenhouse (it does not freeze). Will the ginger keep growing or will it shut down. Not sure if we should restrict the water and/or need to cut down the growth on it for the winter months ? I know that the outdoor ones do, but have never had one indoors.
If the top does not deteriorate on its own, as it would if frosted, then don't cut it off. Do keep the soil moist enough for it not to shrivel, especially if the top remains fresh.
