Hi all, I need some help on selecting a weeping maple. I live on Sunshine Coast B.C. The weather conditions would be exposed oceanfront, southwest exposure and very breezy. Are there any varities of weeping maples that would do well in those conditions. Thanks Dee
In our region Japanese maples grow most places with good drainage and sufficiently moist soil. However, specimens in locations developing hot and dry atmospheres will not maintain as fresh and well-colored an appearance as those on or near well-watered lawns, open bodies of water or other places cooled and humidified by such features. This difference is much more noticeable with purple-leaved selections than it is with green forms.
