What is happening to my Beni Gasa and Tsuma Gaki? At first glance, I assumed it was some sort of parasite, but I didn't see any evidence of spider mites. My feeling is that it's heat related because the last few days have been the warmest/sunniest yet....

    Opinions?

No replies? I'm trying not to jump to conclusions of Anthracnose, but I'll give them another treatment of Serenade just in case....

I can tell you this: if I have maples in my garden looking like the leaves in your pics, I would not worry a single instant. In fact I would classify them into the 'happily growing, healthy' group. I can also reassure you that I have many others which would have a hard time qualifying into that group.

Yes sorry, I meant to respond to this thread but it got lost in the shuffle somehow.

I think you've just got a couple of bugs passing by and having a quick bite.

Gomero is spot on, they look just fine.

many of my dark red cultivars get those spots on the leaves and i have come to the conclusion with some help that it is of the many forms of cercospora we have here in the southeast. i have never had this confirmed by a lab as i have convinced myself it is more cosmetic than serious. i also learned that these outbreaks improved as much as 80% when i stopped watering from the top down and just watered the base of tree whenever possible.

either way, they look like healthy trees to me as well
