I am trying to understand a bit more on how to go about the process of stratifying Peony seeds. I understand the seeds go though a warm and a cold stratification period of about 90 days consequently however I am unsure about what to do after the cold stratification. I have a book on propagation and it says about after the cold period is this ; followed by light, sow indoors (60-70 degrees F)(germ. 270+days). Well that is real specific if you did it before. Does this "follow by light" mean simply to cut on your fluorescents and put your potted up seeds which are then set on a heat mat set to 65 degrees F and wait a year or more? I don't have a green house to put these seeds in and I don't know how fresh the seeds are. If you can help I would greatly appreciate it , I have some good seeds, well good as to the species that is.
I do like the book but I think I need more then one on the topic...
