Harvesting Mesclun salad mix?

    Im growing a salad mix and its about 6 weeks old and im not sure how to harvest it or when it needs to be harvested. Its about 5 to 6 inches tall. Does anyone know how to harvest it? Oh and there is one right next to it, i was wondering if i could move it and how to do so? thank you! here is a couple of pictures.

    Whenever I grow lettuce like that I just pick leaves off as I need them. I usually have about 20 plants going at a time so I always have a good supply of baby lettuce leaves.

    This way, it doesn't matter if they are too close together.

    I harvest Mesclun mix as soon as it is tall enough to be usable. I just mow part of a row down with scissors until I have enough material for a salad. If you don't cut the plants too low, they will keep on growing and produce multiple crops. You have to cut above the growing crown. Mulching around the row is necessary to keep the plants clean.
