I've got a ton of planters, plant pots, and a couple of wine barrels to fill this year. What was missing in them last year was something hanging over the edges. Fuschia would be nice, but I want to start something from seed, preferably perennial, if not, anything works. I bought some Alyssum seeds, but is there anything else that hangs nicely from pots without crowding out the other plants too much?

Why not try Nasturtiums! They are easy to grow from seed and if you pick the right seed will dangle 3 - 6 feet. They endure being dried out, whenever you forget to water, and will bloom all summer. Throw some alyssum or Ageratum in the pot to provide a cover for the pot itself.

I think chillies and bell capsicums, also as well as the nasturtiums which are fantastic. Chillies and bell capsicums can be trained to turn down and be wrapped around the basket. The bright green and bright reds are very contrasting especially at Christmas

We used to eat the leaves of Nasturtioms when we were kids, quite peppery. Not bad in salads
