Hairy Cotoneaster used to help reduce pollution

There is so much research going on at the moment on reducing pollution and making our planet a greener nicer place to live. This study suggests that by planting hairy Cotoneaster at the sides of roads will help. Well there's a thing plants and nature know best !!!

I was wondering if there is more than one hairy-leafed cotoneaster, but I see that Climate change: How this hairy 'super plant' is helping fight pollution - CBBC Newsround identifies the one being talked about as C. franchetii (spelling corrected).

 

Time for another dose of botanical spelling correction.

 

Thanks. I must have been thinking of spaghetti. Who can see those skinny vertical characters? I was looking at an address on a sign in front of a building yesterday that was 1111. I knew what it had to be by the block, but no way could I count the number of characters.
I'll try to remember to cut and paste.
