    Hi,
We have a large Gunnera and I wanted to take off a few pieces (quite large).
A nursery told me to do this in the fall, but with most things I have always done in spring? Thought that it would not root up much on fall as the plant would be going somewhat dormant through fall.
If anyone has info. on this it would be appreciated.

My feeling is you would want to do it in early spring, like no later than April I would think, for best results. I have divided Gunnera tinctoria and it was successful but not easy - those crowns are tough. I agree that fall is not the optimum time.
