Some of you may recall a thread earlier in the year where we were discussing how to protect our acers from Japanese beetles. I had written that I seeded my yard with two Praying Mantis egg cases, hatched them, and then seeded the young throughout my yard. Two days ago I spotted a nice sized (3.5") bright green male on my Iijima sunago, and today walking through my yard I spotted a brown(ish) female in my Tamukeyama Anyway, the half hour or so I spend walking through my yard observing my trees is made even more enjoyable when I spot one of these guys looking out for them. Cheers, -CSL-
