Re: Need advice on care for cactus - Identification needed

Aerial roots; Hylocereus is a genus of tree-living cacti that use these roots to fasten itself (and get water and nutrients) in pockets of moss and other stuff in the trees and thus "climb" upwards.

I bought what could be a clone of this cactus at Walmart. They had overwatered it and the top grafted cactus was pure mush and dead. I am keeping it because the bottom/Hylocereus is growing.
Mine seems to be doing fine without the grafted cactus.
