   I have seed from Ribes sanguineum which is beginning to sprout. The two seeds leaves are about 1" above the seed medium and the stem below them is white.
   
   Should I add more medium to bring the soil level up closer to the seed leaves?

   No. Your plant will know how much stem it needs.
