    Hi,

I'm new to the forum and was hoping i could get some advice.

I've had experience in the past with growing marijuana indoors (when i was younger). However now i'm interested in growing other plants indoors as i no longer have a garden.

I thought i'd start with a batch of lilies my girlfriend is trying to grow, then work my way towards a diversity of plants.

    Do the same rules apply?
    e.g:
light cycles > 16 hours = vegetative growth.
    light cycles < 16 hours = flowering.

Can i still use CFL's for vegetative growth and high pressure sodium for flowering?

I'm still busy looking into soil mediums, PH levels, and what minerals are required e.g. nitrogen, potassium, etc. If anyone has any good sites they use it would be great if you'd post them.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

well i see this isn't the most popular topic ... haha.

First thing i did was re-pot the plant seeing as there were no drainage holes and it was in a tiny pot. I used a high quality potting soil.

I've picked up a 30 WATT sunlight florescent light bulb. not sure if that will be enough, but we'll see. The nursery suggested that the lily get full sun, but from what i've read online it seems that they prefer all day sun, but not direct sunlight.

If the 30 W is not enough, i have a 400 W CFL i can try, but i'm not sure if that will be good enough (30 W is higher in red spectrum, 400 W is higher in blue), but i'm still looking into what light spectrum at what stage of development is best.

I still have problems with sagging flowers and leave tips turning brown, but i'm hoping that was related to the bad drainage.

Anyway, any advice would still be appreciated. If i get good results playing around with the lights i'll report back.
