This web link will answer your questions.

As a general rule with caudiciform succulents like Adenium, in order to make them nice and fat several things will help:

    1. Bright light, often that means full 360* sun
    2. Keeping the container small (this forces top growth)
    3. Occasional stem pruning. Too often makes the plant too bushy and unnatural looking. Best if done at the beginning of the growing season/end of dormancy.
    4. Lots of water during its active growing season. This also requires a fast-draining soil mix. Most people are quite suprised at how "thirsty" they can be during its growing season.

P.S. I have grown to love my Adenium multiflorum as it was in flower from March through October. In fact, I recently mail-ordered three other Adenium species. They are just small seedlings, like yours, so I do not expect them to flower this year, but perhaps if they get enough growth over the next year, they will flower the following Spring.
