I am visiting Vancouver from the East Coast and am still unfamiliar with much of the local flora.

    1. I found many of these beautiful deep orange flowers up at Grouse, often growing in swathes, looking a lot like Leontodon. Could someone please ID them for me?

    2. The white flower head with an "everlasting" texture to the petals?

    3. The low-growing purple flower...

    Thank you!

Ok this is silly - I'm answering my own post. Trial and error. Hieracium aurantiacum - a noxious invader! Ha. Oh well - it was rather pretty. Orange hawkweed. The Stanley Park website has been helpful.

Have you visited the UBC Botanical Garden (home of this site) yet?
Hope you are enjoying your stay. The weather is certainly cooperating.

Thank you Margaret - yes, I did, as well as Van Dusen. Quite lovely.
