I'm looking for a fast growing non invasive ground cover that won't take over my whole garden ... partial sun and no more than 6" tall.

Do any of these qualify, or is there something better?

    Aubrieta
    Blue Star Creeper
    Creeping Mazus
    Periwinkle

Fast growing very often equals invasive. I don't know about all the plants you mention, but Perywinkle is considered very invasive.

From my experience, I would recommend:
    Barren strawberry Waldsteinia fragarioides
    Whitley's Speedwell Veronica whitleyi
all kinds of low growing Sedums and Thymes
    Creeping Phlox Phlox subulata
    Moneywort Lysimachia nummularia
