I know these are fairly common in our spring rainforests but darned if I am able to find them in my books. Could somebody help identify these plants in the attached photos. I guess some might consider these flowers yellow but they are pretty much green to my eye. Thanks
Looks like Daphne. Possibly D pontica. http://images.google.com/images?q=daphne pontica&rls=p,com.microsoft:en-gb:IE-SearchBox&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=ie7&rlz=1I7SUNA_en-GB&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi Looks as if it may be Daphne laureola this is invasive to you. Edited by wcutler: I have updated this link for Daphne laureola: https://www.victoria.ca/assets/Depa...es-spurge-daphne.pdf#search="daphne laureola"
Daphne laureola seems to be correct. I did not know that they were invasive. There is quite a proliferation of them. These photos were taken a Neck Point Marine Park and along the Millstream River (Bowen Park) both in Nanaimo, BC. Thanks
