I stumbled across this http://www.henriettesherbal.com/botany/acer.html Reasonably complete. There are also many fine maple species photos. Additionally a full key system for ID available as html or pdf, I've attached the latter. Not sure why I haven't seen this and why it's not in our resource list, it appears that it is not a new page. -E
Yeah, I saw this before, or at least the collection of photographs, and couldn't work out why it was on a Finnish/Swedish herbalist's website in English! The author of the key and the photographs is Jan De Langhe from Belgium. I will add a link to the resources page.
It's on my site because Jan asked me to put it there; I expect the U of Gent wish to use their IT budget for other things. It's gorgeous, and fits nicely in with the rest of my site. I've Jan's Quercus photos waiting in line, I expect I have the time to put them up in December or so ... ... I also have the Juglandaceae and Betula: http://www.henriettesherbal.com/botany/index.html
Hi Henriette, Thanks for hosting this great resource. I enjoyed the rest of your site, also. cheers, -E
Some of my keys are reviewed, including the Acer key. Beside on the site of Henriette (who I have sent the new ones), you will find these on the website of Arboretum Wespelaar, Belgium. http://www.arboretumwespelaar.be/Default.aspx?WPID=250&MIID=318&MSIID=0&L=E with best regards, Jan
