I think I picked up an awesome deal for $16.99 at Home Depot in Orlando for a 7 gallon Phoenix Silverster palm. See picture. I just repoted it. What do you think?
Looks healthy, now you need to repot it ASAP. Did any one at Home D. tell you that? They hopefully did inform you that it needs a size or two larger pot for repotting.... did they tell you how to care for it too? It is a beautiful plant and at a fair price depending on its reliable provenance.
I've already repotted it, however I didn't post that picture yet. It should be in the ground in less than a year anyways.
That's what I'd have done too firebirdbandit. It may not produce much new top growth while the roots settle in to the ground. Once established, the top growth will pick up to a more normal pace. Nice palm at a nice price! Cheers, LPN.
