Hi, can anyone help me to ID this grass/weed? Or, at least steer me to a site to search some pics. Any help much appreciated. It grows roadside in northern New Jersey, USA.

    Try Setaria viridis.

Thanks very much for the lead. After lots of web reading on the genus I'm fairly confident that it is Setaria faberi. The green foxtail seems to be rare in New Jersey. Also, faberi is the one known for the nodding seen in mine. And there are fine hairs on the leaf uppersides.

Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!
