I started putting in a few grapevines 2-3 years ago in my northern MN garden. I have an old, metal trellis that they're currently climbing on, but would like to install a fence-style trellis and learn how to appropriately PRUNE these babies! They've never been pruned, but have begun to bear good amounts of grapes. From what I have read, my vines are planted too close together.
Q: Can I move a vine without killing it, and what time of year?
Q: How far apart should the vines be? and how tall should the fences be?
Q: How should they be pruned?
Would appreciate any advice or references!
    thanks!

Go to this website- www.mngrapes.org What varieties are you growing there?
There are different types of trellis systems/training systems that you can utilize
    there.

    Cheers
