My wife and I discovered these grapes growing wild on our property, but old photos revealed that a previous unknown owner had cultivated grapes. Location is eastern Finger Lakes region in northeastern U.S. Photo was taken on 9/13/2012, but these leaves had just started turning color in mid-August. (We had an unusually hot and dry summer.) The grapes pea-size. I have reviewed many grapevine images, and these are clearly not typical. Any help identifying these would be greatly appreciated.
Solved. Thanks to Ron B and Sundrop for your help. Your keen eyes and knowledge have solved our mystery. My wife and I were eating the berries occasionally, only a couple here and there, and wondering why they weren't getting bigger, sweeter, and more grapey-tasting. Now we know. The vines sure are purdy, though.
