    Hi
I live near Toronto, Ontario. As you can imagine we get some cold winters here and I have a few baby vines I clipped and grew over the summer. To prevent them from freezing to death, I brought them indoors in our basement for the winter. However I just went to check on them and see they are budding!! Should I bring them outside to force dormancy again? Is this bad if I let them grow and bring them outdoors in the spring?

    Thank you!
    Carlos

The latter option is better. Once they start bud swell, the extreme cold will kill the bud. I know it’s a late reply, but may help others in the future. Fortunately, grapes have primary, secondary and even tertiary buds so if the primary Bud is dead, the secondary will develop. The trade off is fewer clusters/crop for secondaries, and if they die off, the tertiary Bud may keep your vine alive but will have a greatly reduced crop, if any.
