    Hi,

I'm new here, I noticed that the Citrus board was closed and I hope I'm not wrong by posting this here.

I have a three month old Grapefruit seedling and I live in Northern Alberta. We get very little sunlight during the winter and I was wondering if I should invest in a grow light for my Grapefruit seedling?

I have read the old posts using the search and was unable to find any information regarding grow lights and Grapefruit plants.

    Thanks,

    Jane

You might consider the alternative which is to overwinter the tree in total darkness in a cool location where the temperature is below 13C. The tree will become dormant under such conditions.

    Thanks for the reply!

Would it be detrimental to my plant if I got a grow light?

    Thanks,

    Jane

No but then you have to make sure light levels are sufficent which would contribute to the cost.
