I have 4 grapefruit seedlings that I planted a couple of months ago. I got 4 leaves quickly and then they all stopped growing! They are in small pots with quick draining soil. They are always outside and in constant sun. What kind of food or fertilizer should I be giving them and how often? I only water about every other day. Do I need to repot in fresh soil? Thanks!

Re: Grape Fruit tree not producing

Marie, Citrus grow in spurts called flushes. The tree does need fertilizer and trace minerals--they are heavy feeders and use fertilizer in the ratio of 5-1-3. You can use soluble fertilizers or slow-release fertilizers. If your fertilizer does not have trace minerals, you need to add them separately at least once a yr. If your fertilizer does have trace minerals make sure it has Mg--if not add it as Epsom salts, dissolved 1 tsp/gal of water every 3-6 months.
