Can anyone help me please? I have several grape vines growing over a pergola that do a fabulous job of regulating sunlight/heat to our house between summer & winter due to their deciduous nature. However, the fruit are a real problem - our dogs eat them and become unwell, the grapes fall and make a mess, the grapes attract ants and wasps and I end up having a major job picking the fruit and discarding it each year.

My preference would be to keep the plants and stop them fruiting if that is possible? (Preferably with no/minimal toxins).

Alternatively, is there a species of grape that doesn't fruit or another deciduous climber that would be a good substitute?

Male Kiwi vines should work, although they are even more rampant growers than grapes and would need heavy pruning to keep them under control. Hardy Kiwis are less vigorous than the commercial kind. I assume that the grape bunches are growing where they can't be easily reached; otherwise, it would be pretty easy to just snip them off and be rid of the problem.
