Dear All, I have 15 flat acres in Kelowna BC adjoining Mission Creek, which has a limited soil depth before it hits a water table, variable in its depth depending on time of year. High table is mid/end of March to mid May. I probably have a good 2.5 feet before the soil would get damp in those dates, and then as the creek subsides a good 5 to 6 feet. Is there a vine for both red and white (dry) which would be suitable for shallow depth roots? I am getting a soil test done as we speak but I believe that the soil might be very rich. If there is a vine suitable, would this eliminate the need to irrigate? Could I furrow the earth and plant on the peak, therefore giving me higher depth for the vines, and perhaps leading to better drainage? If I am truly out of luck with any vines, is there a suitable crops that might flourish in this environment, especially since we will experience snow, minus temperatures and frost from probably end of Oct to mid March. Albeit not this year!! Lots of questions I know but I would really appreciate anybody's expertise. Many thanks, Antony
