I moved into an older home a year ago and to my delight I found some rather old grape vines out back. They have been trained to vine around a rolled fence and down the property line fence. I trimmed back the vines very slightly in early spring of this year and they did produce grapes (unlike last year when they were all willy nilly). These grapes taste FANTASTIC. They taste and look like Concords to me. If I cut the vines back even more this fall will it help to produce larger clusters next fall? Or should I wait till early spring to cut them back?

I live in the lower peninsula of Michigan by Lake Michigan....do these look like concords to you?

    Thanks...Debi

Based on the shape of the leaves, shape and color of the cluster, and your location, yes - Concord.
