Has anyone successfully grow valiant grapes [or any other variety] in the queen charlottes? Anyone have any suggestions about growing grapes in the queen charlottes?

Hi sandra; It's possible to grow grapes there. It depends on your site. This will dtermine the varieties you can grow there. Valiant will probably grow there for you.
I know it doesn't get too cold there in the winter so you could probaly try some early
shorth season cultivars to see how they do. If you give some more specific information on your site it would be useful to suggest some more varieties you could try there. Cheers

We are north of Skidigate. Property is about 1000 feet from the beach, facing east onto Hecate Strait. The yard is quite open, most of the yard has sun all day.
Soil [if you can call it that] is mostly sand and gravel.
I had hoped to put the vines on the east side. Any advice would be appreciated.
