I have a grape vine that is 20 years old and it has a pretty thick trunk...My family dosen't really like the kind of grape it is...it is seeded and really tough skinned. I would like to change it to a reliance or another seedless variety. Can this grape vine be grafted? anyone have a link to a video of grape grafting?
Gardenlover, e-mail the University of California at Davis. The have a whole school on grapes. Plus they are in the big middle of California's grape growing area, From Napa, Sonoma, & Mendacino Counties clear down to Fresno and such. barb
Hi; This will help you with grafting grapes. http://winemakersjournal.blogspot.com/2009/04/grafting-grape-vines.html. If you contact the folks at CCOVI at Brock University http://www.brocku.ca/ccovi/ they can probably steer you in the right direction for grafting. What kind of grape do you currently have. There aresome good seedless grapes hardy enough for you there. Reliance would work well as would Vanessa for a red seedless. Good luck.
