Can anyone help me identify this grass. I found it in western Kentucky and it looks like goose grass (Elusine indica). The only problem is that it has 8 spikes on top instead of 3 or 4. Is this common for goose grass? It looks like more of a Chloris to me but I cannot find a Chloris that grows out here, and the seeds do not look like Chloris seeds either. Thank you.

Not familiar with goose grass, Eleusine indica first hand, but the following page has a detailed description of goose grass which states that there is a possible 2-10 spikes. Goose grass description.
