I barely remember how this works. I take the iframe link from the gmap, click customize and re-zoom and re-position (this google thing is a bit lame), select the small size and paste the link here, then wrap that in a gmap frame by highlighting and clicking the pushpin. [GMAP]<iframe width="300" height="300" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" src="http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=U...25749&z=14&output=embed"></iframe><br /><small>View <a href="http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=U...spn=0.0168,0.025749&z=14&source=embed" style="color:#0000FF;text-align:left">Vancouver BC Ornamental Cherries</a> in a larger map</small>[/GMAP]
Hmm - I'm beginning to remember this. It gave me a "wrong map id. Click edit to correct it" message. Then when I clicked edit and didn't change anything, the message disappeared and there isn't a map. I'll try again without the customization: [GMAP]<iframe width="425" height="350" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" src="http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=U...08587,0.294743&output=embed"></iframe><br /><small>View <a href="http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=U...74&spn=0.108587,0.294743&source=embed" style="color:#0000FF;text-align:left">Vancouver BC Ornamental Cherries</a> in a larger map</small>[/GMAP] I'm using MSIE 7 on a small laptop. If I get the error message again, I'll leave it. I wonder if it disappears on its own (without doing the map).
So now the error message has showed up in the first posting, but I didn't get an error message in the second posting. This is the same as what happened when I tried this before in this thread. If I understand what I said at the time, the map should be showing up in my second posting in about five minutes. I'm going to bed.
Well, illegally snagging the section of the map I wanted and using it for a thumb with a link to the full map wasn't too bad, except for its losing the zoom. But I don't understand why I have no map. I'm pasting in your (Daniel's) code from that other thread. The map is showing there (except right now, but I saw the maps there last night). At least there are spacers. I'm also repeating myself saying that something that takes three minutes or longer to load is pretty useless. Someone is working on a custom map for the VCBF, so maybe this will work better from his. Here's the map code copied from that other posting. I saw the map (Daniel's) here a minute ago, but not now, but they haven't shown up in the other thread, except that I saw them last night. Oh, wait, the one here is showing now, but not in the other thread. Nothing seems to have improved with the new upgrades, but nothing seems to be working any worse than before either. I'm back to snagging the thumbs. If google contacts you to complain, I want to talk to them.
