Glossy leaves, crazy prolific berries and root spreader

    This thing is a lovely hedge, but it's more prolific than a weed! I'm in Kaiserslautern, Germany.

    Thanks! We just came from Itsly whete we had a hedge of the very edibal 'Bay Leaf Laurel.' This can't get any more opposite than that!!

    Also a Viburnum rhytidophyllum - the large, wrinkled leaves at the bottom of the photo.

    From the broadness of the leaf relative to its length I would say the viburnum was one of the leatherleaf viburnum hybrids rather than the pure species.

    Thanks so much for the info! These Cherry Laurels are hiding a multitude of other shrubs. I'll have more pix soon!
