I am planning to plant 20 Giant Sequoia as a visual screen. All the 2 and 5 gal. plants are quite root bound, being about 4 ft. high and about 4 years old. It seems to me, that I would do better planting seedlings in tubes than trying to get proper root development from the root bound trees. Seedlings might even surpass the 4 ft. trees in height after a few years. Any advice?? I am in Mt. Shasta, CA. Any seedling sources would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for any input.
