About a year ago i bought one of those huge bulbs that walmart sells. I think it may be a caladium. It looks like the pictures of giant elephants ear that i pull up on google.

I have heard that these need some down time in dormancy. The leaves are currently tapering off getting smaller in size with less new leaves replacing the older ones. It has never flowered though. Is it time to start the dormancy?

If so how would i go about this? Do i let it dry out first and then dig the bulbs out of the pot or dig them up first with the leaves attached before drying? How long should i keep in storage? Any idea of what temp i should put it at for storage. Anything i missed?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Caladiums are usually dormant in winter, aren't you going into spring at the moment?
