I have heard it's possible to over winter geraniums in a paper bag. I was told to first wash off all soil, clip them back a little, and then place in brown paper bag and store in frost free area. Will this work?
Hi Jackolin, Here's some ideas. http://www.bachmans.com/tipsheets/Annuals/overwinteringgeraniums.cfm Newt
I take my geraniums wrap them in newspaper, without trimming them) lay them in a box in my basement. I will give them water about once every month and a half and only a lillte bit to make such the roots don't dessicate. Take them out about 2 weeks before its time to plant out annuals and thats it. I have had great success with this method and only loosing about 1-2 plants every now and then. Hope this helped!
I put my plants in the basement window. It's sort of cool down there. I water them sparingly every few weeks or when I think of it and they are fine. Some I kept for about five years that way.
I cut mine short and place them in my basement windows, watering occasionally. They sprout leaves and week flowers until I put them back outside in the spring. I tried the paper bag method and ended up killing a plant.
