I bought a Geranium cinereum 'Splendens', does anyone now what this plant's zone is? There is no mention of the zone on the tag. I found one site and it said zone 7, I'm in zone 5 and now am worried it won't survive the winter here.

One of my books says 7(6), indicating something like 6 might be possible but 7 is usual.

    5, well...

Thank you. Maybe I'll just return them. I really dislike when places sell plants as perennial in when it really isn't one for this zone being sold in.

It should survive if you have guaranteed snow cover. But probably not, if you get a hard freeze with no snow cover.

Yes, well the winter weather here is unpredictable. We didn't get snow here till late January, then thawing and snowing off and on.
Do you think if I mulch it this would help its' survival rate?

Geranium cinereum is hardy here in zone 3 without reliable snow cover. If it doesn't survive there for you, the reason would not be cold hardiness, per se.
