    Hello,
I am hoping someone can advise me where I can purchase geranium macrorrhizum. I have a problem area that won't accommodate grass and this ground cover has been recommended. I live on the North Shore but can go anywhere in the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley if someone can give me a suggestion. Thanks so much.

You may try doing a google search for "buy geranium macrorrhizum" or even "geranium macrorrhizum seeds" if you don't mind planting seeds to wait for plants (I'm not sure how the season would effect this.)
    Good luck!

Hi Lillias--I've grown many hundreds of these for sale in previous years, and they are indeed a tough dependable ground cover in dry shade areas that can be problematic otherwise. Happily for a grower...they propagate very simply thru their creeping root systems (seeds would not make as much sense for this plant).

How big an area are you planting? I ask as the number of plants you desire can affect the price, and the worth of traveling farther afield to get a "deal". For just a few plants, it's probably best to phone around the retailers like Gardenworks who are closest to you. For a larger area/number of plants, I'd look for a discount either from the same retailers, who'd be maybe just ordering them in from one of the local perennial growers...or inquire from one of the nurseries that does retail and wholesale and perhaps grow their own product.

I could suggest some options but thru the PM system, as I'm a bit paranoid about commercializing this forum.

Hi, and thanks for your reply. It was actually someone at my local Gardenworks who suggested I try and find a source through UBC, as they don't have access. The area is porbably about 150 sq. ft. I am not sure what the "PM system" is, so perhaps you can enlighten me.

If you can't find a supplier, drop me a private message and I'll be happy to send you a small plant to get started with.

You don't have enough posts yet to have the private message option.

Hi again, Lillias. I was hoping to private message you, but as pointed out that doesn't work for you at this point. I think I emailed you thru the forum instead...if it doesn't go thru let me know?

Sounds like you may need 100 or more plants, they are usually sold in 15cm/1gal. size. You should be able to arrange something with one of the growers/vendors in the valley if they have stock. (Let me know if you have any problem tracking these down).
