I found this gentian on August 4, 1986 somewhere on the beautiful alpine meadows above Paradise, WA, which is located in Mount Rainier National Park. I first thought that the image might show Gentiana calycosa (and I actually have got it on my web site with this name) but I have serious doubts about this. Can someone please confirm the assignment to the above species or provide an alternative name?

I think convention has it that there is only one possibility in that habitat, unless there has been a splitting, a shuffle or a re-naming that would have to be it.

    Gentiana calycosa!

Thank you very much! So the name will remain as it is on my web site and the question mark will soon be removed.
