    A general rule of thumb:

If you aren't the owner of the content (images or text) you'd like to post, you either:

    a) need permission of the owner
    b) can only post an excerpt - a few sentences at most. Follow this with a link to the web page where you found the text.

If you would like to link to an image, please link to the web page that the image appears on, not just the image.

Since copyright varies from country to country, and international copyright law is fuzzy, I personally have to opt for what makes me comfortable when I review posts for this issue. In other words, if I see something that is a possible violation (even though it actually isn't), I'll opt for what is the safest approach. Not surprising, considering I think I'm the only person on here who can be fired for what is presented on the forums.
