I purchased a beuatiful gardenia this summer and planted it in a pot which is on my porch facing southeast. It was doing great, putting out new leaves and a beautiful green color with lots of blooms. Then the leaves started turning yellow and falling off. Then I noticed these bugs or whatever on the leaves, both on top and underneath. I sprayed the plant with soapy water and this didn't seem to help. I purchased some rose plant insecticide and that didn't help. I don't want to lose this plant if at all possible. What do you suggest I try next.
    I live in west Texas!
    Thanks for your help.

It look like you have scale on your Gardenia. It very hard to cure them, but I wash my with murphy oil soap, it came off, but I have to repeated. Hope it work for you.
