Hello, A few weeks ago I noticed my gardenia leaves are turning brown and falling off starting from the top of the branch. Leaves closer to the stem are looking better than the top ones. (I was watering it once a week only with one cup of water) Also, I noticed white powdery spots on the branches. (pic attached) Please let me know what the problem could be and how to treat it. Thanks
You're in Michigan, so is this indoors? Do you have a very dry house in the winter like the rest of us in heating climates? If the new growth is is dying first and the trunk is getting splotchy, those are two pretty bad signs. Do you have any pictures of the actual plant (close-ups would help).
Thanks Tom! I will post more pictures soon .. by the way, the white spots are only on a few branches. The main stem is healthy and has some nice and new leaves.
