I have this white, I guess, fungus growing on top of my soil throughout my garden area. It has now killed a boganvilla and hisbiscus and am afraid it will attack my whole garden area including my ficus trees. This material looks like white paint thrown on top of the soil, when you break it up it is brown powdery underneath. I have been digging it up and throwing it in the trash, trying not to let it spread but it comes right back in a couple of days.... how can I get rid of this, it is impossible to replace the soil... Thank You Darla

Hi Darla--sorry no-one has been able to help. Living in such a different climate/geographical location, I just don't want to take a stab at your problem.

Somebody closer to your location probably has experience with your fungus, are there any gardening sites like this in Mexico where your "neighbours" could share their expertise...? I seem to recall an active forum based in Texas, they might have some input...not sure how to track them down tho!
